This will be this year’s annual Day to Remember the Fallen Officers of the NYPD. The ceremonies begin at 11am in the “Police Arlington” section of the cemetery. The plaque marking the spot was erected for the “Metropolitan Police Force of New York” the forefather of the NYPD some 100 years ago. While fitting to hold this event on Memorial Day Weekend, please keep in mind that traffic in Manhattan and Brooklyn will be a bit tougher than usual. This is a great opportunity for history buffs.
